In 2016, The State Grid first proposed the concept of distribution primary and secondary integration technology. The core of this technology lies in the in-depth integration and collaborative design of primary equipment (such as switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, etc.) and secondary equipment (such as distribution terminals DTU/FTU, protection devices, communication modules, etc.), ultimately realizing functional integration, information sharing, and intelligent control of the distribution network system.
With the acceleration of the intelligentization process in the power industry, pole-mounted circuit breakers and ring main units in most provinces and cities across China have gradually completed primary and secondary integration transformation and been connected to the system. However, there are still a number of old circuit breakers and ring main units in some regions. These devices have long been in a state of "operating in isolation" due to their failure to connect to the State Grid system platform, unable to exert collaborative management and control functions, thus becoming a bottleneck in the automation upgrade of the distribution network.
To address this pain point, Zhejiang Rockwell Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has carried out targeted wireless communication "three-remote" (telemetry, remote signaling, remote control) transformation based on the unified standards for the construction of distribution automation systems. This transformation has successfully opened up the connection channel between old equipment and the State Grid system, allowing these "power warriors" to re-integrate into the power grid system and achieve "joint operations".
The transformed equipment can quickly and accurately locate faults in the distribution network, and automatically complete fault isolation operations at the same time. This greatly shortens the fault handling time, effectively improves the efficiency of power supply restoration, and reduces the impact of power outages on users.
The equipment is equipped with a new integrated operating status monitoring function: during the operation of the equipment, it can intuitively display operating data through a graphical interface, complete fault diagnosis with intelligent algorithms, and provide scientific O&M guidance. This function helps O&M personnel accurately grasp the equipment status, significantly improving the efficiency and precision of O&M work for power supply lines.
Since the technical solution was implemented, the transformation projects of Zhejiang Rockwell Energy have achieved large-scale application, and their operational stability has been recognized by the industry:
