The skid-mounted substation at the Rockwell Energy mine uses an integral steel frame to support medium-voltage switchgear and transformers. It can be moved either by crane lifting or tractor towing, eliminating the need for civil construction or dedicated switchgear rooms.
As the open-pit mining face advances, the substation can be relocated within 1–2 days. Its open-design ensures reliable operation even in dusty environments without any reduction in capacity.
